Secondary Schools
As teachers/parents/coaches I am sure you have noticed the decline in the student’s movement and range of motion (ROM). And I am not just talking about the non-sporty/non active child this is happening to both active and non-active children. What I like to run is a 6–8-week full body fitness program but I also explain to the students the benefits and why we need to focus on certain movements, for example learning to land before we jump. More and more children and in particular females are suffering with knee injuries, why? Everyone is talking about how children are not outside climbing trees, cycling bikes etc as they were 20/30+ years ago and as a result they have lost some of their ability to learn these basic fundamental movements. The sessions are approx. 45 minutes and cover a range of exercises from squats, bent over rows, RDLs and core exercises like dead bugs or planks to name just a few.
A lot of secondary school students start to become curious about lifting and building muscle and this program will aim to educate the students in how to lift correctly and protect their backs and joints.
Paul was exceptional in his approach, highly knowledgeable, extremely well prepared, and fully engaged with the students throughout. The sessions were fun, informative, and perfectly pitched to suit the level and needs of our group. Our students gained practical, relevant experience that will significantly benefit their coaching development. We are very grateful for Paul’s contribution and look forward to working with him again.
